10 Years of experience
With a background in Islamic theology, I began my career teaching Islamic religious education, including in special education settings with students facing emotional and behavioural challenges. A growing commitment to systemic change led me to pursue studies in Educational Sciences, deepening my focus on pedagogy, identity, and social structures.
I later joined the Network of Islamic Experts, initially working on issues such as radicalisation, but gradually shifting toward fostering dialogue and connection in contexts of religious diversity. For over a decade, I have worked across disciplines to support social cohesion through education, consultancy, and interfaith engagement.
The non-profit organization I founded complements this work by strengthening community-based approaches, grounded in the belief that sustainable change requires collaboration between organisations, institutions and the communities themselves.
NL-10 jaar ervaring
Met een achtergrond in islamitische theologie startte ik mijn loopbaan als leerkracht islamitische godsdienst, onder meer in het buitengewoon onderwijs met leerlingen met gedrags- en emotionele problematieken. Deze praktijkervaring voedde mijn streven om niet enkel pedagogisch, maar ook structureel bij te dragen aan een meer inclusieve samenleving. Daarom volgde ik bijkomende studies in de pedagogische wetenschappen, met een focus op onderwijskunde.
Mijn professionele traject zette zich voort binnen het Netwerk Islamexperten, waar ik me toelegde op vraagstukken rond diversiteit in brede zin. Binnen dit kader bleef de thematiek van radicalisering en extremisme een kernthema. Binnen dit kader lag de focus vaak op het begeleiden van spanningsvelden die ontstaan in contexten van levensbeschouwelijke diversiteit, met bijzondere aandacht voor open dialoog en het bevorderen van sociale cohesie.
De oprichting van mijn vzw sluit hier bij aan en vormt een essentieel verlengstuk van mijn professionele activiteiten. Vzw Kennis vertrekt vanuit de overtuiging dat duurzame maatschappelijke verandering enkel mogelijk is in samenwerking tussen organisaties, structuren, beleidskaders én de gemeenschappen zelf.

Mijn werk richt zich op het creëren van ruimte voor wederzijds begrip en het construeren van bruggen tussen diverse referentiekaders binnen maatschappelijke contexten.

The non-profit organization was established to support parents, youth, and professionals, with a particular emphasis on divers faith communities. It is founded on the conviction that building an inclusive and cohesive society is only achievable through dynamic interaction between various stakeholders: institutional structures, governmental bodies, and the members of the community themselves.
Within this framework, the organization seeks to address challenging topics and foster sustainable social change. This is facilitated through collaboration with key interlocutors, including religious leaders and academic experts, while integrating the diverse expertise brought forward by the founder. Supported by the city of Antwerp, the organization bridges theoretical insights and practical application to advance its mission.

De vzw werd opgericht om ouders, jongeren en professionals te ondersteunen, met bijzondere aandacht voor de diverse geloofsgemeenschappen. Zij vertrekt vanuit de overtuiging dat het bouwen aan een inclusieve en samenhangende samenleving slechts mogelijk is door een dynamische wisselwerking tussen diverse actoren: institutionele structuren, overheidsinstanties en de leden van de gemeenschap zelf.
Binnen dit kader zet de organisatie zich in om complexe thema's bespreekbaar te maken en duurzame maatschappelijke veranderingen te bevorderen. Dit gebeurt door samen te werken met sleutelpersonen zoals religieuze leiders en wetenschappelijke experts, waarbij tevens gebruik wordt gemaakt van de multidisciplinaire expertise van de oprichter. Dankzij de steun van Stad Antwerpen slaagt de vzw erin een brug te slaan tussen theoretische inzichten en praktische toepassingen om haar missie te realiseren.

Active in various projects within the modest fashion industry, my modeling work centers on representation and the articulation of beauty and identity from an alternative perspective. This approach consistently emphasizes dignity, diversity, and authenticity. Complementary to my role as a theological and pedagogical consultant, my work seeks to foster connections between identity, values, and social responsibility.

Actief binnen diverse projecten in de modest fashion industry, richt mijn modellenwerk zich op representatie en het zichtbaar maken van schoonheid en identiteit vanuit een alternatief perspectief. Hierbij ligt de nadruk steeds op waardigheid, diversiteit en authenticiteit. Dit werk sluit naadloos aan bij mijn rol als theologisch en pedagogisch consultant, waarin eveneens gezocht wordt naar verbinding tussen identiteit, waarden en maatschappelijke verantwoordelijkheid.
